چکیده

This paper proposes a computational emotion formation model and attempt to apply the model for speech communication. As the speech communication plays an essential part of our daily life, the utilization of the speech sound will be expected to make human-robot communication smooth. The proposed model forms the state of emotion based on the prosodic components because the emotional aspects of human speech sounds are found in the prosodic change. The model is based on the agent network architecture. Also the model is taken account of the motor command generation according to the state of emotion. The validity of the model is examined by the computer simulation. And from the results of the simulation, it is shown that the formation of emotion in the model is adequate to the speech sounds, and the motor command generation is also adequate.

An Acoustic Study of Emotivity-Prosody Interface in Persian Speech Using the Tilt Model

This paper aims to explore some acoustic properties (i.e. duration and pitch amplitude of speech) associated with three different emotions: anger, sadness and joy against neutrality as a reference point, all being intentionally expressed by six Persian speakers. The primary purpose of this study is to find out if there is any correspondence between the given emotions and prosody patterning in P...

Asc12. Effects of Emotion on Different Phoneme Classes

This study investigates the effects of emotion on different phoneme classes using short-term spectral features. In the research on emotion in speech, most studies have focused on prosodic features of speech. In this study, based on the hypothesis that different emotions have varying effects on the properties of the different speech sounds, we investigate the usefulness of phoneme-class level ac...

A Database for Automatic Persian Speech Emotion Recognition: Collection, Processing and Evaluation

Abstract   Recent developments in robotics automation have motivated researchers to improve the efficiency of interactive systems by making a natural man-machine interaction. Since speech is the most popular method of communication, recognizing human emotions from speech signal becomes a challenging research topic known as Speech Emotion Recognition (SER). In this study, we propose a Persian em...

Emotion recognition based on phoneme classes

Recognizing human emotions/attitudes from speech cues has gained increased attention recently. Most previous work has focused primarily on suprasegmental prosodic features calculated at the utterance level for modeling against details at the segmental phoneme level. Based on the hypothesis that different emotions have varying effects on the properties of the different speech sounds, this paper ...

The effect of bilateral subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation (STN-DBS) on the acoustic and prosodic features in patients with Parkinson’s disease: A study protocol for the first trial on Iranian patients

Background: The effect of subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation (STN-DBS) on the voice features in Parkinson’s disease (PD) is controversial. No study has evaluated the voice features of PD underwent STN-DBS by the acoustic, perceptual, and patient-based assessments comprehensively. Furthermore, there is no study to investigate prosodic features before and after DBS in PD. The curren...
